Our Prayer Journey to Japan
In 1998, while in prayer, the Spirit of the Lord revealed a vision to me -- a vision of a man plowing a piece of vacant land. As I sought the Lord further, I felt the spirit leading me to join my spiritual mentor on a prayer journey to Tibet. In that year, the Lord has called my mentor to saturate the entire nation of Tibet in prayer through seven prayer trips.
In my second prayer trip with him, the Spirit of God began to impress upon my heart a burden for the nation of Japan and throughout the entire trip, the Holy Spirit continues to confirm this prophetic call through my spiritual mentor.
Following that trip, and after much seeking and preparation, our family finally sold our house and moved to Nagoya in the year 2001. However, due to some unforeseen complications, we were forced to return in less than a year. Nevertheless, the call and burden remain in our hearts and we continue to seek the Lord earnestly in prayer for the nation of Japan.
In the next couple of years, God had graciously opened some doors for me to go back and minister in Japan. But in the year 2005, the spirit of the Lord began to lead our family to embark on several prayer journeys to Japan, as He strongly impressed upon our hearts the verse in Genesis 13:15-17 “Lift your eyes now and look, from the place where you are – northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you… Arise, walk in the land its length and its width, for I give it to you…”
In accordance to the Scripture, we trust that God is leading us to walk the north, south, east and west of the entire land of Japan and claim it by faith for His kingdom, just as Abraham did in the days of old and walked the land of Canaan in obedience and claimed it for his descendents.
After much fasting and prayer, our family decided to take up the call and start our prayer journey from Hokkaido, the northern most island of Japan. Since then, we have been going back to Japan every year, traveling to different parts of the nation, covering the largest main island Honshu, the southern island Kyushu and the most remote island of Shikoku, walking its length and width and immersing all the islands in prayers. We trust that according to Rev.7:9-10, we will ultimately see Japan as a nation giving glory to God in the last days, “…behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb”.
After almost three years and five prayer trips, we have finally completed our prayer journey in Japan with the marvelous grace and favor of God. With full sincerity and a heart of gratitude, we want to thank everyone who had co-labored with us these past few years, to enable us to see this vision come to pass. Your encouragement, emotional and financial support have given our family the strength and courage to answer this call and make it possible for us to fulfill what the Spirit of God has laid upon our hearts to do. We often plead before the Lord to honor your love and faithfulness and to reward you in ways that our family can never repay you in our lifetime. With the same measure you use, He will measure back to you a hundredfold as your reward.
We believed that just as David has made 1 Samuel 30:24 a statue and an ordinance for Israel, it has been established by God as a spiritual principle and promise that “as his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies, they shall share alike”.
Thank you once again for your love and support in our calling.
God Bless,
Adrian & Family
